My Kingdom is no part of this world

My Kingdom is no part of this world

When Jesus Christ was on earth many of his followers expected him to take his rightful place as king of the Jews while he was still alive. Many thought that he had come to rescue the Jewish nation from the Roman occupiers who had taken control of Israel. However, their idea of salvation by Jesus was not the same plan that God had for his son, or the nation of Israel. What is Gods view of the modern state of Israel, and how should we view it as Christians?

My Kingdom is NO PART of this world

To any Christian, Gods kingdom should be the main focus of their worship. It most certainly was the main message that Jesus Christ preached, and also told his followers to preach. While teaching the apostles how to properly worship the Father, he tells them to pray this way "Our father in heaven, holy is your name, let your kingdom come"(Mt 6:9-13), thus highlighting not only the importance of the Fathers name, but also the future kingdom of God.

Further along in the book of Matthew, Jesus again highlights how important Gods kingdom is when he explains to the apostles what will happen during the end times. Regarding the kingdom he states at Matthew 24:14 "and the good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." Most certainly then, as Christians, the kingdom of God is not just a main focus of our message, but the true hope for those who profess to follow our savior, Jesus Christ.

Interestingly, Jesus also said that his kingdom is 'no part' of this world. If we are to have an honest perpective of what Gods kingdom is, we must remember these words that Jesus spoke.

In the modern world today, many still view Israel as Gods chosen nation, stating that the bible still teaches that Israel is still the kingdom of God on earth. However, if we actually listen to what Jesus said, in that his kingdom is 'no part' of this world, how does this affect our view regarding the  nation of Israel, which is very much a part of the world? Perhaps a little history regarding the nation of Israel and its inhabitants would be good right about now.
